Arik commences flights to Abuja-Dubai


The Arik Airline on Wednesday in Lagos said it would begin commercial flight operations between Abuja, Nigeria and Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 28 July.
Dr Michael Arumemi-Ikhide, the airline’s Chief Executive Officer, disclosed this in a statement signed by Arik spokesman, Adebanji Ola.
Arumemi-Ikhide said that the new route would operate five flights weekly with travelling from Nigeria on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and returning from Dubai on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

He explained that the route would be operated by an Airbus A330-200 aircraft, adding that the aircraft would offer a two class configuration with 30 Premier Business Class seats and 187 Economy Class seats.
“Outbound flights will depart from Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at 7:05 p.m. and arrive at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at 8:20 p.m.
“The flight will then continue on to Dubai, departing Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at 9:50 p.m. finally arriving at Dubai International Airport, Dubai (local time) at 7:20 p.m.
“The inbound flight will depart Dubai at 10:30 a.m. (local time) and arrives in Abuja at 2:30 p.m.
“The flight continues on to Lagos, leaving Abuja at 4:00 p.m. and arriving in Lagos at 5:15 p.m.,” he said.
Arumemi-Ikhide said that the aircraft was environmental friendly product that provided comfort for the passengers.
